ETOA Insight Hub | Landscape for a post-pandemic travel industry
24th June 2020
Nobody knows exactly what the travel industry will look like next year and beyond. There are many factors that come into play when shaping the landscape for a post-pandemic travel industry, and this webinar looks at how these might influence traveller choices and behaviour.
We introduce ETOA’s new Insight Hub, a content- rich statistical and insight service exclusively for our members, to provide sources of insight that help our members make decisions, and to help articulate the value of European tourism to our partners and stakeholders.
We are delighted to access the expertise of David Edwards as a contributor to the Hub. Now an independent tourism insight consultant, David has many years’ experience in tourism statistics, including VisitBritain, the UK Office of National Statistics, and Department for Transport.
David discusses the likely drivers for a post-pandemic travel industry based on his 3M’s theory. In order to travel, people need the Motivation to travel, Money to spend when they get there, and a Means of getting to their destination. Once the ability to travel has been restored, people may well make different choices than before, and David will look at what this could mean for different market segments.
