2022 Market Update: Nordic Networking Voyage

The first topic covered is ‘2022 Market update and recovery’ from slide 6 to 22. The current challenges, most notably the war in Ukraine are recognised at the outset before presenting a series of forecasts for each of the Nordic markets during the coming months including data tables on flight search trends from various source markets.
Longer term forecasts from Tourism Economics suggest that domestic and short-haul demand will continue to be more buoyant that long-haul demand, although with North America showing far more promise than does Asia.
The second topic covers ‘Tourism resource crisis’ from slide 29 to 46. The focus here is very much on finding suitably skilled labour, with both short and longer-term challenges considered. The need to embrace technology is referenced through e-learning possibilities. Nine tips for tourism leadership are suggested before a handful of slides discussing sustainability and how this dovetails into tourism management.
