STR Insight Blog: Seasonality and winter chills due to COVID-19

A key finding of the research is that 64% of global travellers report being less likely to travel internationally in the current environment than was the case before the pandemic, while only 6% say they are more likely to travel.  While the net travel propensity for domestic journeys is less stark, the research nevertheless found that 38% were less likely and only 16% more likely to do so. 

Looking back over the past few months one-in-four said that COVID-19 had been a reason, at least in part, for not taking a trip.   

Close to two-thirds agreed strongly with the statement that COVID-19 vaccination documents should be required for all travellers. 

On a positive note the study found that there was net positive sentiment in terms of both domestic and international travel once the pandemic is over.
