Taxa Hotelieră / Taxa Specială

The tourist tax is either known as a hotel tax (taxa hotelieră) or special tax (taxa specială) and whether a tax is implemented is decided by local governments (municipalities).

A percentage of the cost of the room is usual, with the revenue invested in tourism promotion.
