Tourism is central to Europe's economic prospects. It contributes more than 10% of EU GDP and provides c.10 million jobs largely in small and medium sized enterprises. Between them, they make up the third largest socio-economic activity in the EU. The industry's needs are diverse and complex, and affected by a broad range of regulation.
2014 sees the formation of a new European Commission and Parliament. NET calls on both to prioritise tourism and ensure effective policy co-ordination. Read more
