The annual European Tourism Summit in the Alps on the 11th October in Lucerne, Switzerland will have a particular focus on cross-border travel and marketing.
In 2016, Europe as a destination has been put under the stress of migration, the UK referendum and border security. At a regional, national and international level there is a need for joined-up thinking, particularly with a view to long-haul markets where other options around the world are very attractive and competitive.
There will be analysis of the overall state of play as well as a look at sectors such as river cruising that depend on cross-border cooperation.
The summit is free for ETOA members to attend and is kindly supported by Lucerne and Switzerland Tourism, Swiss Travel System, the Swiss Transport Museum and local hotel partners.
