SEMINAR ARCHIVE

There have been recent proposals to reform the Package
Travel Directive. At this seminar were outlined some of the problems
encountered by the industry, and some of the dangers that the reform process may
cause, and discussed any positive proposals that members may have. Anders
Dolling from the European Commission gave a
short summary of how things stand from a Brussels perspective.

VAT and the Tour Operators Margin
Scheme (TOMS)
Monday 17th March 2008
This seminar addressed recent VAT developments of interest to travel
businesses, particularly issues arising at a European level. Amongst
the topics to be discussed are the recently agreed changes to the place
of supply rules and the likely changes to the TOMS rules (whether by
agreement and/or as a result of legal proceedings) . This is of
particular concern as we believe that the European Commission is about
to launch infraction proceedings against a number of member states for
non-compliance with the TOMS rules.
