The ETOA secretariat is responsible for the day-to-day running of the
association's affairs, such as arrangements of committee meetings, events
management and marketing, maintaining the website, and communicating with
members amongst others. Located in London, UK, the Secretariat consists of
eight full-time and five
part-time members of
staff.

The role of the Executive Director is to oversee the office and staff, ensuring that all
projects that ETOA is involved in are being done. It also includes lobbying in Brussels as
a part of the NET umbrella and reporting back to the membership about any developments and
events happening at a European level, as well as increasing the MP's and commissioners'
awareness of ETOA and its role. Networking both within the association and the travel
industry in general is also part of the responsibilities of the Executive Director and
includes attendance at travel trade events.

The Head of Online Strategy is the point of contact for all issues relating to ecommerce in the
incoming European tourism industry. He oversees ETOA's website and systems development,
including the workshop registration system used at our events. The role also includes managing
ETOA's communications with members and industry stakeholders on matters of interest to operators
involved in online and group tourism, including the weekly ETOA Briefing.

The role of Sales Manager covers meeting and networking with members, attending industry
events, recruitment of new members and widening the membership base, bringing in sponsorship and

The Head of Tour Operator Relations is a main
point of contact for our Tour Operators. He is responsible for
involving members in all aspects of the association from meetings
and seminars to major events such as the Global European
Marketplace. By encouraging and facilitating participation, gaining
feedback and responding to members’ needs he ensures that ETOA
remains vital and continues to innovate.

The role includes maintaining and improving relations with the travel industry, particularly with Associate members. Particular emphasis is placed on finding new ways of ensuring that membership is of benefit to a wide variety of companies.

The Head of Group Tourism is responsible for ETOA's activities related to group tourism in
Europe, and ensures its membership has access to up-to-date information and advice. Key
topics are tour management and freedom to provide services; driving hours and related
regulation; coach access and associated tolls and charges; capacity management including
consultation with cities and attractions to respond to the needs of group tourism; best
practice guidelines and associated questions of liability. Tour Operators with groups
business are encouraged to share their comments and concerns at any time.

The role includes acting as a point of contact for administrative queries from existing
members, and overseeing the issuing of ETOA Tour Manager and Tour Guide certificates. She
also assists with the running of ETOA events, working with the Marketing Manager and
Events Manager.

maintaining various partnership agreements with Industry
Partners and for updating the ETOA website.
