The ETOA secretariat is responsible for the day-to-day running of the association's affairs, such as arrangements of committee meetings, events management and marketing, maintaining the website, and communicating with members amongst others. The secretariat consists of 6 full-time and 4 part-time members of staff, and is located in central London, UK.

Executive Director - Tom Jenkins

The role of the Executive Director is to oversee the office and staff, ensuring that all projects that ETOA is involved in are being done. It also includes lobbying in Brussels as a part of the NET umbrella and reporting back to the membership about any developments and events happening at a European level, as well as increasing the MP's and commissioners' awareness of ETOA and its role. Networking both within the association and the travel industry in general is also part of the responsibilities of the Executive Director and includes attendance at travel trade events.

European Operations Manager - Adam Buckmaster

The European Operations Manager is the point of contact for all issues relating to escorted tours, such as the changing situation in Europe, particularly Italy, with regard to tour manager status.  As such he is the liaision between tour operator members and European authorities on these matters.

Membership Manager - Ray Hodges

The Membership Manager acts as the intitial point of contact for administrative queries from existing members, as well as ensuring new members are correctly processed. He also ensures members' details appear correctly on the ETOA website and literature, and oversees the issue of ETOA Tour Manager certificates.

 
European Marketing Manager - Sonia Wilson

The role includes managing all ETOA events & exhibitions; representing ETOA at exhibitions; producing promotional material; managing the production of the members directory; updating and maintaining the events & exhibitions web pages on the ETOA website.

 
European Research Assistant - Irena Smith

The Research Assistant co-ordinates statistics that come into the association and responds to member queries in this area. She is responsible for the publication of the online newsletter and assists in producing press releases, bulletins, reports, maintaining the press contact list and update the ETOA website.

The role includes managing the Executive Director's diary, travel bookings, and expenses;writing the minutes of meetings as well as letters for both the Executive Director and the Director of Trade Relations; co-ordinating the ETOA events.

The role includes maintaining and improving relations with the travel industry by attending travel trade events; meeting and networking with members of the travel industry on a regular basis; obtaining sponsorship for ETOA events; recruiting new members.

The Policy Advisor is based in Brussels advises ETOA on issue of European tourism policy. He represents the Association at EC meetings and maintains ETOA's contacts in Brussels.

The role includes dealing with the coach travel industry under the Transport Europe banner, including increasing awareness of ETOA within that sector, recruiting new members, collecting information on any legal or other development that might affect the coach travel industry.

The role involves balancing the accounts at the end of each month; providing lists of outstanding payments; updating the accounts on a regular basis; preparing the cashflow; and preparing the accounts to be audited.
