Visa Price Hike Could Blow Britain’s Olympic Bid
Giving less than a month’s notice, the UK Government recently announced that the cost of a visa to visit the UK is to rise sharply. From today, the cost of a typical tourist visa (which would be required by thousands of Olympic athletes and their supporters) will rise nearly 40% from £36 to £50. More info

European Commission Accepts Two out of Three Demands from the Travel Industry on VAT Reform
The Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), the European Tour Operators Association (ETOA) and Federation of Tour Operators (FTO) today presented three recommendations to Stephen Bill and Ludwig De Winter, the top officials from the Unit in charge of VAT at the European Commission. More info
